The Student Culinary Council at Binghamton University plays a vital role in enhancing campus dining through outreach, collaboration, and innovation. Twice a month, the SCC hosts Super Sample Wednesday, rotating among the four dining halls to offer students samples of plant-based menu items they might not typically try.

They’ve paved the way to expand dining options with the addition of Shake Smart and two new food trucks. Binghamton’s SCC helped promote these new services, engaging with students and answering questions.

Students from the kosher community partnered with the SCC to form the Kosher Student Culinary Council. This group collaborates with dining management at the kosher station to provide input on menus and student needs.

Throughout the year, the SCC worked with student groups to celebrate cultural diversity through food and performance. Highlights included A Night at the Opera, Lunar New Year, Black History Month Dinner, Italian Night, Asian Fusion Night, and Caribbean Night, all featuring custom menus and engaging programming.
